The Space Squadrons Stellardate: 2998 line of miniatures was produced by Grenadier Miniatures between 1978 and 1982.  Grenadier is no longer in business and though some of their other lines of minis have been sold to other companies and are still available, this line has never reappeared though printable 3D models can now be found.

Earth Federation Battle Fleet The fleet of the Earth Federation are doing their best to turn back the invasion from Andromeda.  Their ships have average thrust and average hull strength but do not use armour.  They mount beam weapons somewhat stronger than the aliens and use salvo missiles as their heavy weapons.
