Space Battleship Yamato

Originally appearing in the United States as Star Blazers, the adventures of the Space Battleship Argo (Yamato) were a classic that spun off sequels, series, movies and much much more.  What is below is from the original Star Blazers series and the Star Blazers Fleet Battle System game (which is still in production with miniatures available at http://www.starblazersonline.com)

The recent remade version, Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and the following Yamato 2202 and beyond have modified and updated the Yamato and the rest of Earth's fleet and some of the ships below have not appeared.  There are a number of really nice smaller plastic models now available for the ships in these new series but they don't quite match up to the ships and stats shown below.

Earth Defense Force
There are a couple small rules modifications: Nova Cannons have to charge like Wave Guns (amount double Wave Gun).  Hulls are Weak or Fragile since these ships die quickly and are over gunned when compared to other designs.  So to keep total mass down and keep all of the weapons, weaker hulls were used. The Yamato has a special place in the Sci-Fi Crossover Universe.  In Sci-Fi Crossover 2000, its Nova Cannon took out a massive Super Star Destroyer in a very cinematic moment.
